Kuwait
Kuwait is hosting Khaleeji 26 football Gulf Cup starting 21st December 2024 to 3rd January 2025.
The good news is Kuwait waived the visa fee for Iraqis wishing to attend the Gulf Cup! On top of that, we are also eligible to apply online.
This is a Historical moment, after over 30 years, finally it's easy for iraqis to visit kuwait without invitation letter.
Requirements to be eligible for Kuwait's online free visa:
1. Download the "HAYAKOM" application on your phone, create an account, and apply for the visa through the app, choose Visa type khaleeji Zain 26. Prepare to upload a clear personal photo, passport bio page and next page too, even birth certificate but I uploaded my national ID 😅🙏
2. Only ELECTRONIC Iraqi passports are eligible.
3. Confirmed hotel reservation or staying with a friend. Personally, I booked a refundable free cancellation confirmed hotel reservation for just one night.
4. Football match ticket. If you don't buy a ticket within 48 hours of getting the visa, your visa will be canceled. Match ticket prices for the opening/closing ceremony are between 4-30 Kuwaiti dinars, while for other matches, prices range between 2-20 Kuwaiti dinars.
5. E-Visa is valid for 30 days.
Thank you Kuwait 🇰🇼❤️
Update December 2024

Hello Country Number 80 Kuwait 🇰🇼
Crossing the border on foot was an incredible experience. We flew from Slemani to Basra, taxi to the garage outside the airport for 10k IQD. a private car drove us to the Safwan border point for 60k IQD. If you are in basra down town, then take a shared ride from basra main garage near saad square by 5k IQD pp to safwan roundabout.
You can add extra 10k IQD to avoid the short walk to the border point, but we chose to walk, its just 4 minutes walk.
On the Iraqi side, officials checked our Kuwaiti visas and gave us exit stamps. After a quick luggage scan, an officer at the border checked our exit stamps, and we walked into Kuwait 🇰🇼
A friendly Kuwaiti officer welcomed us with a smile and checked our visas. We then boarded a mandatory yellow bus (1 KD per person) to the arrival hall. They also wanted to charge 1 KD for bags, but I said I didn't have any since mine was already on the bus. They didn't press the issue. You can also pay the bus fare in Iraqi dinars 5k IQD
The arrival hall was packed with football fans, so we waited for over an hour. Once inside, officers took our fingerprints and iris scans before stamping our passports with a big smile. The visa is single for 30 days. Oh and he gave us a free simcard with 10GB active for 24 hours
My passport got its first stamp! We then took another bus to customs for a bag check before finally reaching a huge, deserted parking lot. After bargaining with a taxi driver, we had two options: 10 KD to the city center, its 1 hr 15 min drive, or 15 KD to our apartment.
All the Kuwaiti officers were incredibly welcoming and friendly. What a great way to greet visitors! Crossing the border on foot felt surreal, especially considering the history of this place. Hopefully, this Gulf Cup will mark a new beginning for diplomatic relations and visa processes between our countries.
And the nickname of the road change from highway of death to the highway of love and peace ✌️❤️
Btw, we couldnt make it on time for the football match, so we watched it online 🤣 oh unfortunately Iraq lost the game 😅 but stayed all the way to the final game, the vibe was so great
